OKLAHOMA CITY - The U.S. Grant athletic department announced the hiring of Chad Walker as the new volleyball head coach for the Lady Generals on Wednesday.

Walker arrives at U.S. Grant with more than 25 years in public education under his belt. He initially began coaching basketball shortly after he started teaching, and eventually transitioned into coaching volleyball.

"I am thrilled to become a U.S. Grant General!" said Walker in his introductory press conference. "I'm eager to meet the squad and get to work with our student-athletes in helping them achieve their best both on and off the court."

Walker has three children, and his wife is a teacher in Newcastle. When he is not in the classroom or coaching volleyball, he can be found spending time with family, or cheering on his favorite teams (Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma City Thunder).
